14th International Congress on Infectious Diseases (ICID)
Whether you are a clinician, researcher, educator, public health official or practitioner of any of the disciplines that contribute to the care of patients with infectious diseases, please mark your calendars and make plans to join thousands of your colleagues from approximately 100 different countries in Miami at the Congress.
Wolbachia Conference 2010
This conference was founded to share research results about Wolbachia, a common facultative bacterial symbiont of arthropods that manipulates reproduction and a mutualist partner of filarial nematodes that cause debilitating human disease. As the field has matured and broadened, so have the topics presented.

Submission of Abstracts: Abstracts for all Conference presentations will be published as the Proceedings of the Conference. The Program Committee will select some presentations for the oral program from the submitted abstracts and will notify those authors. Other submissions will be offered a poster presentation.

Elsevier Student Book Award
A Student Book Award is issued at the annual meeting by the ASTMH Clinical Group (American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers’ Health – ACCTMTH) in conjunction with Elsevier. This award recognizes excellence in clinically oriented research presented by a student at the annual meeting. Submit your abstract online and complete the online application form at www.astmh.org by June 3.
Basic Science Pre-Meeting Course Recent Advances in the Biology of Invertebrate Vectors and Implications for the Control of Tropical Diseases
This one-day course targets scientists, physicians, clinicians, graduate students and educators who wish to gain a better understanding of the biology of invertebrate vectors and their key role in the transmission of parasites, viruses and helminths that are responsible for significant morbidity and mortality, most especially in resource-constrained areas of the world. Topics will include an overview of the major vector-borne diseases and current control measures, as well as those in development targeting the vector. Presentations will consider the molecular, cellular, neurobiological and immunological advances that enhance our knowledge of vector biology, physiology, behavior and vector – pathogen and vector – host interactions, as well as for discovery of new approaches to disease control.

ISID-Neglected Tropical Disease Meeting
Over 1 billion of the world’s poorest people suffer from one or more NTDs that profoundly affect their lives. These diseases are termed "neglected" because, in spite of the great suffering they cause, only limited resources have been available to prevent and treat them even though some of the most common NTDs can be treated effectively at very low cost. Awareness about the problem of NTDs has grown over recent years. Governments, foundations and nonprofit organizations are increasingly taking notice and taking action. ISID aims to bring this community of providers and investigators together by organizing the first ISID-NTD meeting to encourage cross-discipline sharing of information related to combating NTDs as well as provide an opportunity to raise public awareness of the importance of NTDs around the world.
